Marahan National High School's Book and Toy Drive

I'm excited to read! A student of Marahan National HS can't help skim one of the donated books.

Christmas season is the most wonderful time to give, unless we forget, it is also the best time to receive. On 8 December 2017, Ingle Trust was fortunate to be involved with Marahan National High School Supreme Student Government's (SSG) Book and Toy Drive entitled Kaalam alang sa Kabatan-unan karong Kapaskohan (KKK)

A short program held during the school's flag retreat was where 12 deserving students from Junior High School and Senior High School, two per each grade level, were given preloved books and toys from Ingle Trust. More than 200 educational materials were also donated to the school's library for the benefit of all the students.

The activity was spearheaded by the school's Supreme Student Government (SSG) President, Reinamie G. Dayrit, with SSG Adviser, Mary Angelie B. Maboloc. For Reinamie and Teacher Angel, "kaalam" which means "knowledge", is a most valuable gift they thought of sharing to the students in time for Christmas, so came the name and idea for the activity.

These are mine! --- Deserving students happy to bring home the donated learning materials.

Marahan National High School is a public high school located in Sitio Marahan, Marilog District, Davao City, a 70-kilometer drive away from downtown area. Despite the limited educational resources, students of the school are infectiously lively and diligent. As Ingle Trust participated in SSG's KKK in the hope of giving kaalam, the foundation has unexpectedly received kaalam in return: that still more work needs to be done in laying out the road for a good future for the Filipino youth. ***

“I am very much grateful to Ingle Trust Foundation for participating and recognizing the SSG’s endeavour to reach out to unfortunate yet deserving students in our school. It was the first time to hold such a meaningful activity as one of the student body’s mandates. It has brought so much joy and inspiration to the students whom I always believed to be the next great products of the generations to come. “

- Teacher Mary Angelie Maboloc, SSG Adviser

"We are thankful and blessed to receive the donated books and toys form Ingle Trust Foundation of Davao. As SSG Officers, we look forward to sharing it with our fellow students."
